FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Last week on Friday Night Football, we were reminded of just how violent and dangerous the game of football can be.

In a matchup between Firebaugh and Fowler, Redcat defensive back Dylan Lopez injured his neck on a tackle and required surgery at Valley Children's Hospital in Madera County.

We're happy to report that Dylan left the hospital and went home on Friday. The Redcats tweeted a photo that shows the young man standing with some assistance.

Dylan had surgery on Tuesday. We're told a full recovery could take a couple of years, but he looks well on his way.
