Kell scores 22 in 2nd half, San Diego St. beats Fresno St.

FRESNO, Calif. -- Trey Kell scored 22 points, all in the second half, and Zylan Cheatham made four free throws down the stretch to seal San Diego State's 70-67 win over Fresno State on Saturday night.

The Aztecs led throughout the second half but Fresno State kept nipping at them.

Fresno State's Karachi Edo made two free throws to close to 61-59 with 1:43 remaining. Kell answered with a jumper and added two free throws for a 65-59 lead with 34 seconds left. Edo responded with a 3-point play to trail 65-62. Cheatham and Kell had five free throws in the final 22 seconds to secure the win and snap Fresno State's nine-game home win streak.

Dakarai Allen added 13 points for San Diego State (13-9, 5-5) which started Mountain West play 0-3 but has won five of its last seven games.

Deshon Taylor led Fresno State (14-9, 6-5) with 18 points and Edo added 17.
