The San Diego Padres have signed free agents Jhoulys Chacin and Clayton Richard to one-year deals, the team announced Tuesday.

Both pitchers will receive a base salary of $1.75 million in 2017, according to multiple reports. Richard's deal includes an additional $1 million in incentives.

Richard, 33, ended last season as a member of the Padres after being released by the Chicago Cubs in August. The left-hander went 3-4 with a 3.33 ERA in 36 games (nine starts) between the two teams. All nine of his starts came down the stretch with the Padres.

Richard also previously pitched for the Padres from 2009-13.

Chacin, 28, started the 2016 season with the Atlanta Braves before being traded to the Los Angeles Angels in May. The right-hander posted a combined 6-8 record with a 4.81 ERA in 34 games (22 starts) with the two clubs.

Chacin's best season came as a member of the Colorado Rockies in 2013, when he went 14-10 with a 3.47 ERA in 197 1/3 innings in 31 starts.
