If he lives up to his promise, Urban Meyer will get more than a ring for leading the Ohio State Buckeyes to a national championship -- his third as a coach.

Meyer's promise was written in ink.

"He promised us after we beat Bama in the locker room that, if we won the next one, he'd get a tattoo," tight end Jeff Heuerman told USA Today Sports after the Buckeyes' 42-20 victory over Oregon in the College Football Playoff National Championship presented by AT&T.

"I'll supervise it," Heuerman added. "Trust me. I'm going to be right next to him. The first thing that went through my head is, 'Coach Meyer's getting a tattoo.'"

Heuerman wasn't the only player excited about Meyer's pledge.

"We have core values, and honesty is one of them, so he better not be lying," defensive end Joey Bosa told USA Today Sports.

Meyer has said that the school's "Block O" logo is a potential design. As for where the tattoo will go? Meyer hasn't said.

"I'll be here bugging him about it until he gets it," Bosa said. "I'll go with him [to get it]. I've already got my Block O."
