New mobile tech company 'Quiq Labs' opens in Bitwise building

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A new technology hub is growing in Downtown Fresno. On Wednesday, a business called "Quiq Labs" held a ribbon-cutting inside the Bitwise Industries building on San Joaquin and L Street.

Quiq Labs provides mobile web and app solutions for businesses and organizations. The new technology company's co-founders, graphic designer Damon Thomas and software developer Curlen Phipps.

"It's an amazing opportunity for us to come from... Two dudes in a house working on web projects to an official office inside with a relationship with a lot of technology companies inside the Bitwise building," said Damon Thomas, Quiq Labs co-founder.

Bitwise brands itself as the mother ship for a growing community of small technology companies in Downtown Fresno. Organizers say the Valley's lower cost of living and huge margin for growth make it a perfect place for start-ups.
