FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Terry's House in Downtown Fresno offers families a place to stay while loved ones are being treated at Community Regional Medical Center.

The pet-friendly facility just received a large donation to solidify its future.

Ever since Terry's House opened in 2011, Sunnie the black lab has had her run of the place. She finds treats wherever she goes.

One of the 20 rooms here is named in Sunnie's honor.

Terry's House is a rare facility in that it allows families to bring their dogs with them. Sunnie showed us the dog's quarters.

Debbie and Jim Christian helped raise funds to build Terry's House.

Debbie said of the pet-friendly facility, "That's one less worry that you have when you have a catastrophe happen to you. If you can have your dog with you they are such a healing part of your life."

Debbie and Jim Christian have now donated commercial real estate property worth $1.5 million dollars.

Jim Christian explained, "Debbie and I are giving a legacy gift of property to Terry's House to help it fund its future."

The endowment also aims to let people know there are other ways to donate.

Terry's House relies on charitable contributions.

Jim said, "I was told it was worth more like 12 million in doggie bones."

Debbie added, "When you have a bad day pets are always there for you."

Sunnie seconded the motion.
