Traffic backed up for miles after car goes up in flames on Highway 41

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Traffic was backed up on Highway 41 for miles Saturday afternoon when a vehicle went up in flames on the side of the road.

A video sent to us by an ABC30 insider shows the flames and thick smoke near the Shaw Avenue exit of Highway 41.

Emergency crews responded to the scene to put out the flames as they ripped up the nearby embankment.

It's not known what caused the car to burst into flames, but there was another vehicle nearby that was damaged.
