Applegate overpass at Highway 99 opens after repairs

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Applegate overpass at Highway 99 in Atwater is back open after a month of repairs.

Caltrans closed the section in October after a big rig carrying construction equipment collided with the overpass.

Three girders sustained damage and crews had to patch them back up.

As a result, portions of the Highway 99 were closed over the past few weeks.

Nearby businesses reported seeing fewer customers because of the closures.
