New Downtown Traffic lights continue to blink all red, City of Fresno blames it on a striping problem
If you've been downtown recently, you've may have noticed the traffic signals at Tuolumne and "E" streets have been blinking red for about a month and a half.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- If you have been downtown recently, you may have noticed the traffic signals at Tuolumne and "E" streets have been blinking red for about a month and a half.

The lights have been that way since August 4th when the new Tuolumne Street bridge opened.

We contacted the City of Fresno Traffic Signal Department Tuesday to find out when the lights would be turned on.

The answer, no one really knows - yet.

It turns out, the City is waiting for a contractor to fix the striping on a turn lane near the location and they've kept the lights blinking red to slow traffic in the area.

At some point, the contractor will have to close the whole street, block out the new striping, and then re-stripe the intersection.

After that, the lights will be turned on.
