Construction crews will begin demolishing the old Ashlan Avenue railroad overpass.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Construction crews have begun demolishing the old Ashlan Avenue railroad overpass.

In order to safely complete the work, a section of Weber Avenue will close for about 24 hours starting at 8 p.m. on Sunday.

Cal Trans says drivers should also expect some short-term closures at a couple of highway ramps along Highway 99 and Golden State Boulevard.

The closures will be in effect until Monday at 5:30 p.m.
