Cedar Avenue is closed from Shields to Dayton after a car hit a power pole in Central Fresno.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Cedar Avenue is closed from Shields to Dayton after a car hit a power pole in Central Fresno. At one point PG&E reported over 2-thousand customers were without power in the area.

Investigators say a car, with two adults and a child, hit the power pole on Wednesday morning, causing it to lean and the wires to sag. A box truck then drove through the area, hitting the sagging power lines and pulling the power pole down.

The power pole fell onto an American Ambulance, injuring a Fresno Police Officer. Two occupants of the first vehicle were also injured in the crash.

All of the injures in the incident are described as minor.

PG&E crews are working to restore power in the area.
