Truck crashes through building in Southeast Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno police are investigating after a truck drove into a building in what officers believe was a possible DUI-related crash.

The incident was reported at 5:48 p.m. at Tulare Avenue near 6th Street.

Officers say the driver was traveling south on 6th Street when it ran a red light. The truck struck a mini-van heading west on Tulare Avenue, and as a result, crashed into a plumbing supply store.

No one inside the store was injured. At least three people were in the truck; one person was transported to the hospital.

Police say the two other occupants were intoxicated and told officers the driver took off. Investigators do not believe that to be true.

The investigation is ongoing.
