The Fresno Police Department responded to a call near Clark St. and Warner Ave. and confirmed that a victim was killed after being shot in the head.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A homicide investigation is underway after a person was shot and killed in northeast Fresno Saturday evening.

The Fresno Police Department responded to a call near Clark St. and Warner Ave. around 6:15 pm and confirmed that a victim was killed after being shot in the head.

Witnesses reported seeing a verbal argument between multiple people escalate into a physical confrontation.

That's when at least one shot was fired and an adult male was struck. He died at the scene.

Police say it's still unclear if or how the group knew each other.
