FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A wildfire burning at Vandenberg Air Force Base is blowing smoke into the Central Valley.
The fire exploded in size over the last couple of days and continues to burn out of control.
According to Action News Meteorologist Rob Bradley, light wind from the south and southwest is pushing the smoke from the fire on the Central Coast into the Valley. Action News views from all over the Valley have been reporting smoke.
According to the Santa Maria Times, the fire has burned 6,000 acres and is 0-percent contained.
Col. Paul Nosek said on the base's Facebook page that the fire didn't threaten the space launch complex. But he said the blaze required firefighters to be redeployed from standing by at the launch of the imaging satellite.
