Clovis Community College offers new mechatronics, industrial automation courses
The short-term training courses focus on a combination of electrical, computer, mechanical, and control systems.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The short-term training courses focus on a combination of electrical, computer, mechanical, and control systems.

Instructor Matthew Graff, partnered with local companies to design and create the curriculum to provide students the specific skill sets and training local employers are looking for right now.

"There's a lot of different industries locally. We don't normally think of this area as being a manufacturing hub. But it's a lot of different companies making different things. So any company that's making anything would have industrial automation," Graff said.

At the end of the mechatronics courses, students will be properly trained to work for local industries such as food production, petroleum production, fabrication, and logistics.

Classes start February 5.
