SANGER, Calif. (KFSN) -- There is a hard closure now in effect at Highway 180 and Bethel after a van collided with an agriculture tank containing sulfuric acid. It happened just after 7:30 Wednesday morning when a man driving the van lost control hitting the tank.

He and his daughter were splashed with some of the acid and were taken to a hospital for burn treatment.

There is now a hazmat situation in the area as acid seeps into the ground.

County health officials are on scene to drain the tank of all the sulfuric acid.

An investigation is now underway to determine what caused the crash.
