City officials deemed this part of town as one of the most challenging areas in Fresno to keep clean.
The city has hosted several of these events in just the past couple of weeks.
This week, they partnered with Fresno Housing, Clean Fresno and Councilmember Miguel Arias.
The cleanup is also gaining a lot of attention with the public -- hundreds of Fresno residents signed up to lend a hand.

"What we are starting to see with "Beautify Fresno" is a momentum building, an excitement building, people willing to come out on the weekend to clean up," says Mayor Jerry Dyer. "These aren't the only ones; we are also seeing people that are now going on to their neighborhood apps, Nextdoor. Coordinating their own neighborhood cleanups within their own specific neighborhoods."
Safety vests, paper pickers, gloves and trash bags, along with pre-packaged snacks and bottled are provided to volunteers.
If you would like to get involved -- you can sign up on the "Fresno Housing" Facebook page.
The next cleanup is scheduled for next Saturday but is sold out, according to the events page.
