FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- Investigators say speed may have been a factor after a motorcycle and a pickup truck collided on Shields Avenue and Biola Avenue in Fresno County.
The driver of the pickup truck told authorities that he was driving on Biola Avenue, stopped at the stop sign, and then entered the intersection when the collision happened.

The man on the motorcycle died at the scene and the woman on the motorcycle was taken to the hospital with major injuries.
Authorities say the cause of the crash is still under investigation. However, the intersection is a two-way stop, so the motorcycle traveling on Shields did not have a stop sign. Also, investigators say the motorcycle may have been traveling at a high rate of speed when the crash happened.
