A man's body was found on the side of the road near Highway 180 and Dunlap Road on Saturday morning.
Fresno County sheriff's officials say the victim, 60-year-old Sammie Shirley of Orange Cove, died from a severe wound to his neck.
Homicide detectives arrested Shirley's sister, Orlanda Haynes, in connection to the crime. Investigators did not release a motive or a timeline for the murder.
Haynes was booked into the Fresno County Jail and faces murder charges.
