CDC says it's shaping up to be a bad flu season in new report

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released a new report Friday regarding the latest flu outbreak.

The report said the flu is now widespread in every state except Hawaii, but the infection rate does appear to be peaking and it is no longer increasing the way it did in December.

Meantime, health officials said it's shaping up to be a bad season overall. Dominated by a nasty type of flu bug that can cause severe illness in young children and seniors.

They won't know how well the flu shot worked until next month.

In the Valley, we've had three flu-related deaths reported
