Motorcyclist killed in crash in central Fresno identified

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The motorcyclist who was killed on Thursday after crashing into a wall on a highway transition in Central Fresno has been identified.

The Fresno County Coroner's Office identified the man as 30-year-old Donell Dudley.

The California Highway Patrol says the crash happened just after 6:30 a.m. Thursday. Officers initially received a call about a body lying in the roadway on Highway 180 under Highway 41.

The CHP says the motorcyclist, now known as Dudley, was heading westbound on the Highway 180 transition to southbound Highway 41 when he hit a wall. Dudley fell about 60 feet away from the bike.

He was taken to the hospital, where he died.

A helicopter helped locate Dudley's helmet and motorcycle.



Officers say it's unclear whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
