YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK (KFSN) -- A California Highway Patrol officer is home and recovering after getting pinned between two vehicles.

Officials say it happened at about 11 Sunday morning.

Two officers were called to the area of Highway 41 and Tenaya Lodge for several vehicles stuck in the snow.

As one of the officers was outside his vehicle, a tow truck started to slide and collided with the officer, crushing him between the two vehicles.

The officer had to be taken by helicopter to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno.

Authorities say he suffered minor to moderate injuries.

No one else was injured.

The CHP is reminding drivers to take it slow and put chains on their vehicles in the snow to avoid these types of incidents.
