On Monday, local congressman David Valadao reported that his Hanford office was vandalized by what he described as anti-Israel protestors.

Along with the photos, Valadao wrote he strongly supports the right to peaceful protest, but violence and vandalism are never acceptable.
Police say surveillance video, which they are not releasing, captured four people throwing red syrup and smearing the substance while taping fliers on the walls and windows.

The posters show children's faces and say "murdered by Israel."
"It's a disappointment, as far as if these were actual folks that live in the Valley. I don't necessarily believe that those were Central Valley folks that did that, but we'll see from the camera footage that we turned over to law enforcement," says Representative David Valadao.
Valadao has had an office in Hanford since he started his career in Congress.
He says it helps bridge the gap between his hometown and D.C.
The Republican has been vocal about his stance on the Israel-Hamas war and believes that's why he was targeted late Sunday night.
"I have spoken, spoken up in support of Israel and their right to defend themselves and to rescue their hostages. I think the U.S. Government has a responsibility to go after their hostages, as well, that have been taken by Hamas," explains Rep. Valadao.

Temple Beth Israel Rabbi Rick Winer- agrees that regardless of opinions, everyone should express themselves peacefully.
"Honestly, you've got people working there who are just trying to do their job. And it's extremely upsetting for those people who are the collateral damage in the vandalism. So their lives have now been turned upside down, and they're feeling unsafe," expresses Rabbi Rick.
Representative Valadao says despite the crime, his office remains open and accessible for constituents in the 22nd congressional district.
Hanford police say they are still investigating the incident- as vandalism for now.
