It happened Monday afternoon at about 4:30 on Minnewawa at International -- that's just north of Clovis.

Officers say 22-year-old Wallowa Bates was seen driving twice the speed limit in a Mercedes when she went through a stop sign and hit a Honda.
The driver of the Honda, 45-year-old Jennifer Ellis, died at the scene.
Her two children, ages 8 and 10, were taken to the hospital with injuries.

Bates was not seriously hurt but was taken to the hospital to be evaluated.
Officers do not believe Bates was under the influence of drugs or alcohol, but she was arrested for felony vehicular manslaughter.
She has since bonded out of jail.
On Tuesday, Valley Children's announced that Ellis had worked as pharmacist at the hospital for almost 15 years.
"In her role and in her time here, Jennifer demonstrated all that was good about this sacred work in caring for kids - she was devoted, passionate, professional, kind and simply loved her part in helping kids return to health. Her colleagues counted on her, her patients were better for her care, and she carried the 'heart' that is the Valley Children's mission proudly in all she did," hospital officials wrote in a statement. "Our deepest sympathies go out to Jennifer's family, friends and colleagues. Her memory will always be a blessing in our lives."
