SANGER, Calif. (KFSN) -- Firefighters are working to figure out what sparked an apartment fire in Sanger Friday evening.

The fire started in the attic at the Driftwood Apartment Complex near Jensen and Bethel. Flames damaged four units forcing four families from their home.

The Sanger Fire Chief Greg Tarascou said they had to call in additional resources because of the heat.

Firefighters said they were at the apartment earlier in the day to help put out a stove top fire.

At this point they are not sure if this was a re-kindle and are still investigating.
