"Like I said, we were a little surprised because I didn't think we were going to win anything," said Leng Thao, The Brioche Lady Owner.

Thao said they hope to bring a sweet taste of France here to the Valley and the expo is helping them make their next moves.

"Hoping to network with a lot of local business owners, and the feedback and to stand in front of the judges has been amazing experiences. They have great tips that I can implement in my company."

Rosa Brothers and Lanna Coffee impressed audiences with their cold brew coffee milk.

"It's huge, it gives us a foundation to be able to share the story of what makes us unique, as well as get the product into people's mouths ultimately," said Bryan Feil, Lanna Coffee Co.

Hitting the tables this year for the first time was Enzo's Table Fresno Chili Crush Olive Oil and Sunmaid's sour strawberry flavored golden raisins.

One new product features a philanthropic mission-- St. Francis Homeless Project features dog treats, 'dog's dig em, ' which are made by women recovering from drugs and alcohol.

"I'm hoping we get the word out and that people start to recognize and support our business community and go to the retail location and purchase the product to sustain our program," said Sandra Kaye, Saint Francis Homeless Project.

Also new this year-- Bussetto Foods unveiling a California snacking line with salami from here in Fresno, as well as nuts and cheese produced in the Valley.

"Snacking is a hot trend right now. To separate ourselves from our competitors we thought what better way than to showcase California and the products that happen to be here in the Central Valley," said Mike Grazier, Bussetto Foods.

More than 140 exhibitors took part in this year's Fresno Food Expo.

Many of the companies, whether new or seasoned, are hoping for new business with buyers, but they say the customer feedback is really invaluable.
