Authorities say 33-year-old Joe Alvarez and his daughter, 13-year-old Analiea Alvarez, of Fresno, died in the crash on Highway 180 and Alta Avenue.
Officers say Joe was speeding in a Jeep Liberty when he swerved into oncoming traffic, crashing head-on with a Chevy pickup truck.
Joe was thrown from the car. He was declared dead at the scene.
Analiea was airlifted to the hospital, where she died.
The man in the Chevy was taken to the hospital for treatment.
His 16-year-old and 4-year-old children in the truck were not hurt.
It is not known if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
