Authorities say 55-year-old Ruben Ramirez of Parlier died as his friend attempted to rush him to the hospital.
Deputies responded to the area of Bethel & Jefferson around 5:15 p.m. Sunday for a victim of a gunshot wound.
When they arrived, they found Ramirez suffering from a gunshot wound.
Ramirez died at the scene.
Investigators determined the shooting happened in Del Rey but they haven't determined an exact location.
Authorities believe the shooting may be gang-related.
