Deputies were called to the area of 6th Street around 11:15 p.m and found 40-year-old Leonel Avalos of Huron with multiple gunshot wounds.
Officers used life-saving measures, but Avalos died at the scene, marking the third homicide of the year in Huron.
Further information regarding the investigation was not immediately available, but sheriff's officials say no one is in custody at this time.
