Police said a man in his 70's was crossing the street when he was hit by a silver Pontiac.
The driver stopped to help and is cooperating with the investigation.
The victim was taken to the hospital but he later died from his injuries.
Investigators want to remind everyone it is extremely hard for drivers to see pedestrians in the roadway at night.
