Students received a campus police bulletin about the false report just after 8 pm.
The original notification sent out to students earlier in the day said two men jumped out of a car and sexually assaulted a woman who was jogging in the Campus Pointe area around 1:30 am.
Fresno State police say their investigation has since determined the report was fake.
