The Roadrunner Fire is currently 90-percent contained.
Dozens of fire engines are responding to the blaze as crews, both on the ground and in the sky, tried to control the flames. Cal Fire officials said strike teams from Tulare County are being used to protect structures close to the fire line.
Cal Fire officials said the area is steep, and the dry vegetation is giving the fire its fuel.
"That fire preheats right away and it doesn't take long for that stuff to catch and go-- any little bit of wind is gonna push it along," said Tony Davis, Cal Fire.

Kayla Delk started taking pictures after she saw the smoke and drove closer.
"It was pretty scary, something you don't see all the time."
Cal Fire officials could not say how many structures are threatened yet, but did say crews are working hard to make sure the blaze doesn't get bigger.
"We definitely don't want anything like what happened in Mariposa happening in Tulare County," said Davis.
Cal Fire said there are not any active road closures or evacuation orders at this time.
