It happened just before 3 pm Tuesday near Herndon Avenue.
Some of the lanes were shut down and traffic was backed up for miles as crews cleared the wreckage.
Officials say they attended to multiple people with injuries, and there is still no word on their condition.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
