FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Firefighters are battling a fire at an abandoned house in Southeast Fresno.

It happened shortly after 5 a.m. in the area of Jensen and Willow. The fire is still burning.

Fire crews say the flames were so intense the roof caved in.

No one was inside the house when the fire started.

"The fire started to extend and threaten those other properties but crews were able to protect that and eliminate that threat and concentrate on the main residential home," Fresno County Fire Battalion Chief, Ryan Michaels said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

It's not the first fire crews have put out in this area.

Firefighters say another house in the property caught fire about a month ago and that transients are known to frequent the area.
