The coroner's officer has identified her as 18-year-old Paula Chavez.

The crash happened just after 6 am Monday on Highway 43 and Pickerell Avenue in Corcoran.
The California Highway Patrol says a semi-truck was headed northbound when Chavez's car headed eastbound went through a stop sign.
The semi-truck driver reportedly tried to avoid the collision but ended up hitting Chavez.

She died at the scene.
The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.
Officers say Chavez was not wearing a seatbelt.
