Wednesday afternoon, sheriff's officials identified the victims as Samuel Rosasco, 21, of Oakhurst and Karina Barnett, 17, of Ahwahnee.

The car was found submerged in the water along Road 222.

California Highway Patrol officers say Rosasco was driving eastbound on Road 222 west of Road 426 when he lost control of the vehicle while on a left curve. The car crashed into an embankment and veered off the road, overturning into the lake.
