Visalia police say Dell Baker was contacted by gang suppression unit officers near Ben Maddox Way and Douglas Avenue. When officers arrived Baker threw a loaded gun and ran from police.
A day later, Baker was found by a K-9 unit near Central Street and Tulare Avenue.
Baker again ran from officers but was stopped by after a short chase by a police K-9. He was taken to a hospital for treatment for injuries after he was bitten by the K-9 officer.
He was then taken into custody for felony possession of a firearm and resisting arrest.
