Man who threatened to shoot mother in Squaw Valley found dead, deputies say

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The man Fresno County Sheriff's deputies were searching for in Squaw Valley on Friday has been found dead.

According to the sheriff's office, deputies responded to a home on Pepperweed Road and Partridge Lane just after 8:30 Friday night.

Officials say 62-year-old David Wilson was accused of opening fire on his mother.

As deputies arrived, they heard some of those shots being fired from inside the home. Wilson reportedly continued to fire at deputies, hitting patrol units multiple times.

Deputies did not shoot at Wilson.



The mother was able to escape uninjured.

Saturday morning, deputies found Wilson in a remote area near his home.



Officials believe he died by suicide.



Deputies recovered an AR15 rifle, SKS rifle with an extended magazine and two handguns belonging to Wilson.
