The city sent out an urgent notice telling residents a mountain lion was seen around Atwater High School.
People were asked to keep children and pets inside.
Around 9:30 am, Atwater police were able to issue an all-clear notice after security footage from the high school showed the mountain lion had left the area.
If you see the mountain lion, you're asked to call Atwater Police and stay inside.
