Several cities in the Valley participating in National Night Out

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Tuesday, police departments around the country, including local ones in the Valley, will take part in National Night Out. It is an event designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness and generate support for, and participation in, anti-crime programs.

Organizers also hope it strengthens police and community partnerships for safer neighborhoods.

There are several National Night Out events happening in the Valley including ones in Fresno, Madera, Merced, and Visalia.
