Around 7:30 Tuesday morning, CHP officers say 21-year-old Ryley Savannah Wood of North Fork was driving south on Road 39 1/2 near Bella Vista Drive.
That's just east of the Madera Ranchos, before you reach Highway 41.
Officers say for some reason, Wood drifted off the road and crashed into a power pole.
No one else was injured in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
