21-year-old man arrested for stabbing father to death, Fresno County deputies say

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A 21-year-old man is in custody after Fresno County deputies say he stabbed his dad to death.

The Fresno County Sheriff's Office was called out to a home near Shaw and Grantland just before midnight on Saturday.

Deputies found 79-year-old Freeman Hunter Jr. suffering from injuries. Despite efforts to save him, he was declared dead at the scene.

Authorities took his son, 21-year-old Freeman Hunter III, into custody. He was booked in the Fresno County Jail with a $1 million bail.

Deputies are still investigating what led up to the stabbing.
