25-year-old man dies following drowning at Millerton Lake, deputies say

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Madera County Sheriff's Office confirmed that 25-year-old Everardo Apantipan has died after he was pulled from Millerton Lake on Saturday afternoon.

Apantipan was rushed to the hospital when CAL FIRE crews from the Madera-Mariposa-Merced Unit pulled him out of the lake.

Footage obtained by Action News captured the moments after the rescue.

Officials say Apantipan was taken to Valley Children's Hospital, which was the closest hospital.

Initial reported information indicated Apantipan was 29 years old.
