FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The area west of Highway 99 does not have any public libraries, and for many school libraries are the only place kids can get access to books or the internet during summer months.

School officials say its important to keep learning over the summer. "Continuity of learning is what's really key. What they learn during the year is more apt to stay with students if they have the opportunity to access the literature, access the enrichment in our libraries and in our technological backbone," said Mike Berg, Superintendent, Central Unified School District.

Harvest and Herndon-Barstow Elementary School libraries, and Central High East Campus library will be open June 16th through July 11th from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
