FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The 34th Central Valley Honor Flight will take the next group of local veterans to Washington, D.C., to see the monuments built in honor of their service and sacrifice.

Dozens of veterans from around the Valley will board a plane headed to our nation's capital.

They'll leave from the Fresno Yosemite International Airport but first, they'll take part in a ceremonial send-off.

Once they get settled in, they'll be visiting multiple monuments during their trip, such as the Vietnam, Korean and World War II memorials.

The vets are scheduled to return to Fresno on Wednesday night.

There will be a welcome home ceremony at the airport around 6 pm Wednesday to welcome our veterans back. The public is invited.

Action News Anchor Warren Armstrong will be traveling with the veterans and will send back reports on their trip, which you can see on later editions of Action News.
