The California Highway Patrol says at 5:30 p.m. Friday, it received a call asking to help locate the woman who had failed to meet a reporting party at Kirch Flat on Thursday.
CHP officers, along with Fresno County Sheriff's Deputies and aerial assistance from both departments, responded to the Kirch Flat area but were unable to find the woman or her vehicle.
At 8:40 a.m. Saturday, a Fresno County Sheriff's Deputy Sergeant found the woman and her tan Lexus SUV along Trimmer Springs Road, west of Maxon Road.
Investigators say the Lexus was traveling west on Trimmer Springs Road when, for reasons still under investigation, it crossed lanes and went down a steep embankment.
The car overturned multiple times and the woman was ejected. Authorities say the woman was not wearing a seatbelt.
It's unknown at this time if drugs or alcohol were contributing factors in this crash.
The investigation remains ongoing.
