NEW YORK CITY -- ABC's Martha Raddatz was presented with a lifetime achievement award at the annual News and Documentary Emmy Awards in New York City on Wednesday.
Before receiving the award, she spoke with Joelle Garguilo on the red carpet about the honor.
"It is an honor, it is an immense honor, is what I would say, and just one of those surprises. I'm proud of it, I'm proud of everyone here, though and I think that's my message that journalism endures and we'll keep at it as long as we can," Raddatz said.
Raddatz is the Chief Global Affairs Correspondent for ABC News and was presented the award by Debra OConnell, Chairman of Disney Entertainment Television.
ABC News was also honored with other awards for "20/20" and ABC News Live's coverage of the U.S. Army's Grand Military parade.
Disney is the parent company of ABC News and this station.
