The California Highway Patrol issued the alert early Wednesday on behalf of police in Hayward, which is located in the San Francisco Bay area. The alert was in effect for Alameda, San Joaquin, Kern and Los Angeles counties.
The child, Maxence Sirois, and the suspect, 42-year-old Marina Kazakova, had last been seen Sunday morning in Northern California.
Kazakova was believed to be driving a white 2016 Mazda CX-5 when the Amber Alert was issued early Wednesday.
Hours later, the car was found abandoned in the parking lot of the federal building on Wilshire Boulevard in Westwood, just east of the 405 Freeway. Video from AIR7 showed several CHP vehicles responding to the scene.

Maxence and Kazakova were not with the vehicle when it was located. Shortly after that, the CHP said that the child was located and the Amber Alert was deactivated.
The Hayward Police Department told our sister station KGO-TV that the mother was also taken custody. Police added that the child will be reunited with the father.
