Following a years-long investigation, the Fresno County Sheriff's Office say new information led them to arrest 59-year-old Basilio Rodriguez.
Back in 2016, authorities were called to the Orchard Village Apartment complex on South Avenue regarding an assault.
When they arrived, they found 25-year-old Angel Esquibel suffering from numerous injuries.
He was taken to the hospital where he later died.
A motive in the case or what led up to the attack has not been released.
Rodriguez has been booked into the Fresno County Jail where his bail has been set at $1 million.
