That annual tradition is coming alive again in downtown Fresno. The holiday weaves together Aztec, Mayan and Spanish rituals with Catholicism. Art, themes and narratives are very distinct, but the exhibit at Arte Américas combines the day of the dead with inspiration from Diego Rivera.

Artists from throughout the state contributed and can be found on canvas, paper or wood paneling. The main gallery has large scale altar installations each incorporates a mural as well as Ofrendas made by Valley community members.
In Mexican culture it is the time of the year when passed souls come back to earth to be remembered.
